NINJAGO Set for September 23, 2016 Release; Charlie Bean to Make Feature Directorial Debut

It was announced earlier today that Warner Bros. has set a release date for its planned Ninjago adaptation for September 23, 2016 (in 3D, of course).  That means the LEGO spin-off will smoke-bomb its way into theaters more than six months before The LEGO Movie 2, which opens May 26, 2017.
Chris McKay, who co-directed the nearly half-a-billion-dollar-earning first installment, will be at the helm of the sequel, while the studio has set first-time feature director Charlie Bean (TRON: Uprising) to handle the Ninjago film. Bryan Shukoff and Kevin Chesley penned the screenplay for Ninjago Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be producing with Dan Lin and Roy Lee, with Jill Wilfert, Seth Grahame-Smith, John Powers Middleton, James Packer and Steve Mnuchin serving as executive producers. With everyone else under the sun building toward a cinematic universe, it’s no surprise that WB and LEGO are doing the same, which will make fans (and collectors) around the world happy for quite some time.  Hit the jump for more. As Deadline reports, Ninjago will debut in 3D on September 23, 2016. president Dan Fellman had to say about the announcement. Source : Warner Bros & collider.

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION International Trailer

Michael Bay directs the fourth installment in the Transformers franchise, which acts as a sort of reboot for the series and revolves around a burgeoning inventor and family man (Mark Wahlberg) who finds himself in a world of trouble when he accidentally discovers a beat-up Transformer. This international trailer isn’t drastically different than the previous one, but there are a few bits of new footage involving Wahlberg’s character. Though he’s certainly worlds away from Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky, Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager appears to be filling the same hero/comic relief hybrid type of role, as he has a couple of comedic lines in this international cut.

Spidercam, High-flying choreography

The Spidercam is a system which enables film and tv cameras to move both vertically and horizontally over a predetermined area, typically the playing field of a sporting event such as a cricket pitch, football field or a tennis court. The name “Spidercam” is a trademark.
The Spidercam debuted at a grand slam tennis event at the 2010 U.S. Open as part of ESPN2’s coverage. It first debuted at a soccer match in 2003, but fans really took notice at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The camera is so mobile it can creep right up on a chair umpire, a player sitting in his chair during the changeover break or move right along with a player as they walk back to prepare to serve out a third set. At the Western & Southern Open this week, the shots from the camera are even sponsored by Emirates Airline.
So how exactly does it work?
“It is just like a kite, only instead of one controlling pulley, there are four. Indeed, the winch resembles a charkhari, that thing you hold in your hand, while instead of the dor or manjha, you have the cables transmitting a high-resolution feed to the control room.

First Full Trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ Released

Warner Bros. has released the first full-length trailer for Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated Interstellar.
The trailer outlines the movie’s plot — Earth is in bad shape, and interstellar travel is the only option left to help humanity — but despite stunning visuals plenty of details remain securely under wraps.
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine, Interstellar chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage. Interstellar will be the first film from Nolan since 2009’s Batman epic, The Dark Knight Rises.
If you want to see the trailer on the big screen, it’s playing with Godzilla in theaters this weekend, but Interstellar itself won’t arrive until November 7.
